My unique blend
I am a passionate person that has training in many fields that all serves a purpose for healing. My My passion for science of trauma and dancing serves a great bridge between science and spirituality.
I have a BSc. and Msc. in genetics, epigenetics, and neuroscience. I worked in the psychiatric research field specializing on ADHD, trauma, and stress response.
I have completed training in Trauma-informed Somatic Facilitation for Women by Somatic Institute for Women, with a focus on Jungian psychology (shadow work), nervous system regulation, and movement therapy.
I am also a professional-level dancer specifically trained in sensual movement for 8 years.
Now, I have created a program that blends all of these fields, integrating art, science, and psychology.
My story
I am a Turkish woman who has become a first-generation of many things including a scientist, a dancer, a rebel, a skirt-wearer (you heard that right), truth speeker, a sensualist, a self-freed woman, a way-shower.
And by self-freed I mean, self-freed from the suppression, objectification, slut shaming, body-shaming, and judgements that started for me since I was a child. At 14, I already knew that I needed to leave. I was not privileged (just like many Middle Eastern women are not) to leave that easily and move abroad. So I studied non-stop for years for scholarships.
I even went to a religious school because they had better education even though it was my nightmare to be there. I was completely blinded and laser-focused on leaving. That’s how much I felt I did not belong.
My anger as a little girl never stopped expressing itself through rebelling against every rule I was told about being a girl.
The dancer & the scientist
At 22, I started high heels dancing, and if you come from a suppressive culture, you know that is an act of activism, rebelling against your family’s values and of course, being seen as a slut.
Dance was my hobby for a long time, since I was primarily a scientist. I always felt shame for being both at the same time.
Too school for cool but also too cool for school.
I always felt an imposter, because the real scientists were the ones that kept working and reading even when they went home.
I studied Bsc. Genetics and Msc. in Medical Epigenetics, and worked for 5 years in psychiatric genetics in academia and later at a biotech company. I loved what I studied, but reality of work was different. The moment I realized how much the system we live in corrupts my ability to change human lives, I wanted to leave. Well, I also always knew I am meant to help people in a different and more lively way than analyzing genetic data behind a laptop.
I somehow always felt that I want to do something for women, just could not put my finger on it. So happy now that I can.
Everything I went through in my life, everything I learned is now being birthed as this business that is going to evolve to something big, and that is the best thing that ever happened to me, or let’s say I made it happen partially too. I am forever grateful to the universe.
